Lawrence is a highly experienced commercial and privacy lawyer who supports organisations operating in complex, data-driven environments. He works with Westbrook Data Protection Services Limited as a freelance legal consultant.
His background spans data protection, commercial contracting and technology with a particular focus on helping businesses manage supplier relationships and compliance obligations in a practical and proportionate way.
With over 20 years’ experience, Lawrence understands how legal advice needs to balance risk management with commercial objectives. He regularly advises on complex commercial agreements, data processing and international data transfer arrangements, technology clauses and risk management.
Lawrence qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and is a practising member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority. He also holds the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) qualification, reflecting recognised expertise in European data protection law. Lawrence enjoys helping clients cut through complexity and focus on proportionate, workable solutions – particularly where privacy, regulation, and commercial realities intersect.

Alexander Hazell
Technology and Data Privacy Lawyer
Alexander is a senior technology and data privacy lawyer with over 20 years’ experience advising organisations on complex commercial, privacy and regulatory matters. He works with Westbrook Data Protection Services Limited as a freelance legal consultant.
He has held senior in-house roles, including Head of EMEA Legal at Acxiom, where he also served as Data Protection Officer and was part of the regional management board. His experience spans ad tech, data-driven business models and emerging technologies, with a strong focus on building practical, scalable legal and data protection frameworks.
Alexander has advised businesses across Europe, the Middle East and Africa on GDPR compliance and regulatory risk, and has supported organisations in establishing legal functions, governance structures and template agreements. He has extensive ICO audit experience and has also provided expert evidence to the UK Parliament on privacy and the digital economy.
